Waterboarding AbdulMutallab to Federal Wetlands status
OK this is rich, the official White House website feels it’s necessary to whinge about Dick Cheney calling out Obama for his cakeboy response to the panty Eunuchbomber (I yield to Ed Morrissey’s superior name). Pretty sad, and Jim Geraghty manages to knee them in the nads about it while spinning a beautiful turn of phrase.

I think we all agree that there should be honest debate about these issues, but it is telling that Vice President Cheney and others seem to be more focused on criticizing the Administration than condemning the attackers.
Just to clarify, this is the same former vice president who we were told was Darth Vader, ruthless and cruel, obsessed with terrorism, draconian and lacking in perspective, stopping at nothing to find anyone who could be even remotely connected to al-Qaeda and using excruciatingly painful forms of interrogation that leave decent souls traumatized and Jack Bauer wincing.
And now we’re supposed to believe he’s insufficiently interested in condemning the attackers? He’s beyond condemning him; he wants to waterboard him until his lungs qualify for a federal wetlands status.
Federal wetlands status, beautiful. Would that it were going to actually happen. Sadly no, we already have him lawyered up and consequently will learn nothing from him. This is the worst mistake of many made by the Obama amateurs in this incident, but it is right in line with their compete failure to accept the fact that al Qaeda is at war with us and we need to act like it. We didn’t send cops to Afghanistan for a reason, law enforcement is the wrong answer to a declaration of war. If Obama had a clue, he would declare the pantywaist an enemy combatant and ship him to Diego Garcia for some tender loving, and the American people concur.
Fifty-eight percent (58%) of U.S. voters say waterboarding and other aggressive interrogation techniques should be used to gain information from the terrorist who attempted to bomb an airliner on Christmas Day…..Seventy-one percent (71%) of all voters think the attempt by the Nigerian Muslim to blow up the airliner as it landed in Detroit should be investigated by military authorities as a terrorist act. Only 22% say it should be handled by civilian authorities as a criminal act, as is currently the case.

It takes days for Whitehouse to comment about a Terrorist bombing on an airplane. It takes only hours for them to comment about Dick Chenney. Priorities are way out of wack for this administration.
Within hours White House aides, including chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod and new White House counsel Robert Bauer, ordered staff to begin researching similar breakdowns — if any — from the Bush Administration.
“The idea was that we’d show that the Bush Administration had had far worse missteps than we ever could,” says a staffer in the counsel’s office. “We were told that classified material involving anything related to al Qaeda operating in Yemen or Nigeria was fair game and that we’d declassify it if necessary.”
The White House, according to the source, is in full defensive spin mode.

Yesterday while I was lying in the burn ward getting my crotch bandages changed, I had a chance to catch the air disaster movie marathon on TCM. The lineup included “Zero Hour,” “The High and the Mighty,” “Skyjacked,” and “Airport ‘75.” For all their campy fun and unintentional laughs, those corny old films really serve as a grim reminder how the whole in-flight terror experience has gone completely downhill since the jet set golden years of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. What happened to all those pretty stewardesses and polite, well dressed infidels, screaming as the plane plummeted to the ground? Time was, a suicide mission to explode an international jumbo jet was an event full of glamor and excitement; but now it seems to be a endless series of delays, hassles, pushy jerks and third-degree testicular chemical burns. And don’t even get me started on the crappy airline food.
Take for example a recent flight I took from Lagos to Detroit. With over 100,000 miles on my JihadAir platinum card, I’ve schlepped enough miles through Heathrow and Gatwick and Yemen International to know I should be at the airport two hours before departure. Especially during the holiday heavy bombing season. Good thing too, because by the time I got there, there was already a mile long line at the explosives counter. And man, talk about smell! I swear half of these stupid shaheeds hadn’t bothered to take a shower, let alone a pre-martyrdom ablution ritual. Come on people, how about a little self respect?
And right when I was only two martyrs in line from the counter? Yep, you guessed it. The stupid explosives agents called for a prayer break. To top that, just as I was finishing my last supplication, I get up off the prayer rug and these three friggin’ Saudis totally jump the line, and I’m like, “dude, WTF?” And they’re like, “hey, sorry bro, we’re late for a bombing in Somalia.” And I’m like, “come on man, we’ve all got flights we want to bomb, no cutting.”

About GST’s post about the second guy on 253, NOW the story comes out that he, indeed was taken into custody, then released. But, no one else was involved? Or, we just forgot to mention that we did take someone else into custody? Sorry bout that, we’ll try to get it right next time?

Obama will harass the law abiding citizens who are traveling (trying to stimulate the economy) rather than interrogate a known terrorist. We are not looking for the terrorist, we know who he is. He is an Unlawful Enemy Combatant. Obama and AG Eric Holder (who never met a terrorist he didn’t pardon) have given the terrorist his Miranda Rights (which terrorists do not have) and an attorney. These people are not serious.
