Christian extremists worldwide terror spree
Madison’s Capital Times is a progressive publication, so it is normal for it to publish some outrageously slanted pieces, but this one is amazing even for them. They are discussing the upcoming speech by Ayaan Hirsi-Ali at the UW and they want to outline the problem of religious zealots and violence, so what do they focus on.
Religious extremists intimidate, threaten and sometimes even kill in the name of their “true faith.”
This is an unsettling reality brought into stark relief on a regular basis by news headlines — like last week’s reports on the conviction of the Christian zealot who murdered a physician in the vestibule of a church because the zealot did not approve of the doctor’s determination to provide reproductive health care to women.
The case of the Kansas killer reminds us that, all too frequently, Christianity has been warped by its cruder adherents into an excuse for denying women basic rights and dignity.
But Christianity is not the only religion that is used and misused for the purpose of making such excuses.
Un-fucking-believable! I can think of one in particular and the very accurate statement that “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslims”. They spend 4 paragraphs talking about the only incident of Christian terrorism in a dozen years or so, when the women they are purporting to discuss has had her entire life ruined by hateful Muslims. What a pitiful attempt at moral equivalence. It is obvious that the editorial position of the Capital Times is that Christian extremists pose as much of a threat as Muslims ones. What a crock of rarefied shite.
I know it pains the loving, tolerant progressives at the Cap Times to have to allow the hateful, misogynistic, homophobic, bastards who make up Christianity to COEXIST. But what is stunningly hypocritical is how the peaceful, tolerant misogynist, homophobes whose religion is aptly a call to submit, get a complete pass. They must not be pointed out as oppressors of hundreds of millions of women worldwide, their barbarous acts killing innocents must be passed off as reaction to our imperialism, and their creeping and sometimes trotting attempts to bring Sharia law to all of us must be accepted. They don’t even manage to condemn Islamic terror against Hirsi-Ali or anyone instead they point out their efforts to whitewash it.
The Capital Times has for many years made it a part of our mission to celebrate the contributions made by Islam and to defend Muslims against ignorant and cruel stereotyping. We’ve been more blunt in this regard since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, which some of the uglier players in our public life have used as an excuse to peddle religious bigotry.
It is hardly religious bigotry to note what is obvious to anyone with an above room temperature IQ. Liberals are rarely so flagrantly obvious as this case, but it is not a shift, simply a dropping of the mask they wear. Talk about haters.

Umm, thats not statistically true, if you use the legal term of terrorism and include all the attacks on minorities in Russia, the firebombings of asylumshelters in Germany, the basque small bombings, the naxalite and Sri Lankan conflicts and so on. Just saying.
I don’t buy the killing of ONE person by another as “terrorism”. Murder certainly; assasination, maybe. Yes the Doctor’s killer was apparently motivated by the fact that said Dr was murdering babies (or “providing reproductive health care” whatever) by performing late-term abortions.
And yeah, Fnord;”statistically” NEARLY all of the people killed in terrorist attacks were indeed killed by Islamists.

I am not discounting that there are some non-Muslims conducting terror attacks, but all research I have seen shows that they are insignificant compared to Islamista terror. And the prime victims are Muslims as well.

Uncle J. : If you use the metrics of persons killed by terrorism, I agree with you. But if you take a look at the number of terrorist-actions, it becomes more obtuse. I dont mean to be a nitpicker, but since the terror= islam is pretty strong on the more insane parts of the internet, I feel the need to point it out on sane sites such as this.
(Also, its a interesting challenge to the term terrorism. Is firebombing a asylum-shelter terrorism? Is conducting pogrom-like raids against minorities terror-actions?)
